Kevin Beach Jr wins first career Modified feature at Big Diamond Speedway. Duane Howard crowned 2018 Mattera’s General & Electrical Contracting Modified track champion.

 It was a gorgeous night for racing on Friday at the Big Diamond Speedway and since opening night when Billy Pauch Jr was victorious, we finally had a feature winner in the Mattera’s General & Electrical Contracting Modified division not named Duane Howard, Craig Von Dohren or Ryan Godown. Not only was the winner a first-time winner this season but for Kevin Beach Jr it was his first career Modified victory ever at Big Diamond.Read More....

2018 Mattera’s General & Electrical Modified point title to be decided this Friday, August 24th at The Big Diamond Speedway on “Fayash Memorial” night. 

It all comes down to this Friday night, August 24th on “Fayash Memorial” night to decide the 2018 season championship in the Mattera’s General & Electrical Contracting 358 Modified division. The “Ringoes Rocket” Ryan Godown has led for most of the season but with two DNF’s in the last two races, the leader of the pack is now the “Diamond Cutter” himself Duane Howard. Howard’s consistency throughout the season along with his three points paying wins has vaulted him to the lead in the quest for the title.Read More....

Jack Butler has paid his dues the past few years running at Big Diamond for a year and then at Grandview for the past two seasons. The young driver out of Phillipsburg, NJ has come close to victory on a few occasions only to have circumstances take it away from him. The USAC “Wingless” East Coast Sprints make their return to Big Diamond Speedway this Friday July 20th on Slifko Service Center Night along with Midgets, Central PA Legends and Road Runners

The United States Auto Club “Wingless” East Coast Sprints make the second and final appearance for 2018 this Friday at the Big Diamond Speedway on Slifko Service Center night. In their only other visit this season, it was Modified points leader Ryan Godown pulling off the thrilling victory over a strong field of drivers. Godown will once again be in action this Friday trying to sweep the season’s events.  Godown will have stiff competition from club stalwarts Steven Drevicki who is the current points leader in the series along with Eddie Strada, Joey Biasi Jr and Chandler Leiby. Read More....

This Friday night will be the annual George Stevenson Memorial at the speedway presented by B & H Landscaping. The George Stevenson Memorial has always been a marquee race on the track’s schedule and this year will be no exception. This annual event is to honor the late George Stevenson Sr and George Stevenson Jr who went out of their way to raise money for children suffering with cancer even as George Stevenson Jr was afflicted with the disease as well. Ringoes, NJ driver Ryan Godown made a statement on Friday night that he is the too beat for the 2018 track title by winning the 25-lap Mattera’s General and Electrical Contracting Modified main event in honor of Dave Kamp. You would think that leading the points and having your worst finish of the season being third, that Ryan Godown would be happy with the way things have been going on Friday nights at the Big Diamond Speedway. But even with those stats in which most drivers would be ecstatic with, Godown has been frustrated at the Minersville dirt oval. There was no frustration on Godown’s part last night as he went out and drove his Searock Fabrications #26 Troyer TD4 car to victory in the 25-lap Mattera’s Electrical and General Contracting 358 Modified main event. It was Godown’s eleventh career 358 modified win at the track and it couldn’t have come at a better time for the Ringoes, NJ driver...Read More....

Duane Howard back in victory lane at Big Diamond Speedway on Savage 61 Night. Doug Hendricks,  Andrew Fayash III and Elvin Brennan III also victorious on the night.

Duane Howard is used to winning races at Big Diamond Speedway, after all Howard is the track’s second most winningest driver of all-time. But in recent years the wins have not come so easily for the Oley, PA driver at the Schuylkill County dirt oval. As a matter of fact, you would have to go all the way back to May 29th, 2015 to find the last time Howard won in a points paying event at the speedway. Howard did manage to win the track’s biggest race of the year last season when he won the “Coalcracker 72” race in September and Howard was also victorious in this year’s “Money on the Mountain” race back in April but those were not points paying events.  ...Read More....

It will be Savage 61 night this Friday, June 8th at the speedway. Savage 61 is the proud sponsor of the Road Runner division and this week the 20-lap Road Runner Feature event will pay $661 to win. The Central PA Legend Car Series set to make their initial appearance at Big Diamond Speedway on Friday, June 1st.

The Central PA Legend Cars will make their first of two appearances this Friday, June 1st at the Big Diamond Speedway. The fast-growing division will make a return appearance on Friday July 20th. This series like all others have been plagued with rainouts all season long but still have managed to get seven feature events in the books with Austin Bellemare leading the way with three wins. Postponed twice due to our extended northeast winter, this Friday Big Diamond Speedway will once again present the 6th Annual “Money in the Mountains” race for the Modifieds. This Friday will also be “No Sweat Service Group” night as the mighty Modifieds will take part in the 40-Lap Big Block / Small Block challenge race paying a nice sum of $6000 to the winner with $400 to take the green. It was unbelievably warm spring night up in God’s Country as Big Diamond presented their 47th season opener. Standing tall in victory lane on “Schaeffers Motorsports Night” and taking top honors were Billy Pauch Jr after a terrific battle with rival Ryan Godown in the Mattera’s Electrical and General Contracting 358 Modifeds feature race. Youngster Alex Yankowski was the USS Achey Sportsman winner with Kris Ney taking the Savage 61 Roadrunners main event and Elvis Brennan III winning the No Sweat Service Group Street Stock feature.Read More....

Big Diamond cancels Friday’s practice; Practice, Vintage cars and Enduro’s now set for Saturday 3/31
Due to wet grounds and an unfavorable forecast for today and tomorrow, Big Diamond promoter Jake Smulley has been forced to pull the plug on Friday’s scheduled practice. The track will now proceed with Saturday’s rain date. Practice is open to any car with a roll cage and proper safety equipment. Also, on tap for Saturday will be the “Blast from the Past” Vintage cars along with a 75 lap Enduro Race paying $3000 to the winner take all event. There must be a minimum of 30 cars for the Enduro race and if the minimum of 30 cars is not met the race will revert to a normal 50 lap race.Read More....

Practice, Vintage cars and Enduro’s set for Friday 3/30 at Big Diamond Speedway; Rain date is Saturday 3/31

Despite Mother Nature’s repeated challenges, the past few weeks. Practice scheduled for this Friday 3/30/18 at Big Diamond Speedway is a go. Promoter Jake Smulley has been hard at work to ensure the track will be in shape for this Friday’s scheduled practice. Practice is open to any car with a roll cage and proper safety equipment.
