2022 will mark the 50th season of racing at the Big Diamond Speedway, the schedule that Jake and Jasmine Smulley have put together for the upcoming season is second to none with a diversity of divisions that will make the fans happy to take the drive up to the four-tenths mile dirt oval nestled up in God’s Country.

But before we get to the season opener on Friday, April 8th. Big Diamond Speedway will offer an open practice for all divisions on Sunday, April 3rd. Practice will be for any type of race car with a roll cage and the proper safety equipment. Pit gates open at 10:30, the track will be open for practice from 12:00pm to 3:30pm. Pit fee is $35.

S & D Bodyline will be on hand to sell parts and tires, with Kelly Race Fuels on hand to purchase race fuel. Season passes can be purchased at the pit sign window. All drivers are asked to please check in at the pit shack so we can get an accurate count of drivers and divisions on hand.

Grandstand admission is free. Those wishing to purchase and reserve seats in the grandstand area can do so from 10:30am to 12:00pm. This will also be the last chance to renew your reserved seats. All seats not renewed will removed and sold at first come, first reserve. A staff member will assist you in the grandstand area during the time.

The pit concession stand will be open during, serving both the pit and grandstand side.

Once practice is over, all eyes will turn to the opener of season #50 set for Friday night April 8th as part of Spin City night at Big Diamond. There will be extra money on the line as the Insigner Performance Modifieds will race for $4,000 to win. In the USS Achey Crate Sportsman class, $1,000 will go to the winner and not be left out, the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners will race for a first-place prize of $400. Ironically, all opening night winners last season used that win to propel them to the 2021 track championship in their respective divisions, Tim Buckwalter (Modifieds), Steve Lyle (Crate 602 Sportsman) and Andrew Fayash III (Roadrunners).
