For the third consecutive Friday night, weather once again forced Big Diamond Speedway to have to cancel their weekly program which featured the URC Sprint cars.
This Friday, May 27th the track will once again give it a go as the Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars make their only scheduled visit to Big Diamond in 2022. This series has grown exponentially over the past few years with their exciting brand of wingless racing.
After eight races this season, young hot shoe Briggs Danner has been the dominant force on the series with a total of six wins. Danner is the current points leader on the tour and has yet to finish out of the top ten. Last year’s point champion Alex Bright sits only 30 markers behind Danner and has two wins to his credit in 2022. Never to be counted out is multi-time series champion Steven Drevicki who sits third in points and who also hasn’t finished out of the top ten this season. Former Big Diamond Speedway Champion and modified star Billy Pauch Jr will also join the USAC East Coast field this Friday aboard the Hogue No. 39.
The Insigner Performance Modifieds will be itching to get back to racing this Friday after having to sit idle for three weeks. Louden Reimert is the current points leader and will be looking to extend his lead on Friday night. Jeff Strunk and Duane Howard are hot on Reimert’s heels in the chase for the title. So far in 2022 it has been Strunk, Ryan Krachun and Craig Von Dohren that have all graced victory lane.
Just like with the modifieds, the USS Achey Crate Sportsman will be raring to go after a three-week layoff due to the weather. Talan Carter, Brendan Edgar and James Costlow have the three features that have run this season. The consistent Matt Yoder is the leader in the chase for the championship followed closely by Brendan Edgar and Logan Watt.
The Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners are also on the card Friday night with their door-to-door brand of racing. Andrew Fayash III leads the way with two wins and is the current points leader. Alex Shoffstall has also visited victory lane in 2022.
Pit gates will open this Friday at 5:00 pm with Grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm
Pit passes are $35 for Big Diamond Speedway members. Non-member pit passes are $40.
Warmups get underway at 7:15 PM with racing starting at 7:45 PM.
