$10,000 to win Money in the Mountains set for Big Diamond Speedway, Friday April 14th

After a very successful Big Diamond season opener last Friday won by Craig Von Dohren, this week owners and promoters Jake and Jasmine Smulley present the annual Fritz Roehrig Memorial “Money in the Mountains” race for the Quandel Concrete Modifieds.
This will be the 10th running of the MITM race with the modifieds racing 50 laps for a top prize of $10,000. As a bonus, the modifieds will also run a Cash Dash paying $2,000 to the winner.
Last year’s Quandel Concrete MITM race saw Ryan Krachun win his first ever Big Diamond feature event after a thrilling race with Brett Kressley. In the previous nine races there has been only one repeat winner, that being Ryan Watt who has two MITM wins. Single winners of the MITM race include Jeff Strunk, Ryan Godown, Rick Laubach, Craig Von Dohren, Duane Howard, Alex Yankowski and as mentioned earlier Ryan Krachun. All previous winners are expected to be in attendance this Friday along with a host of others all looking for some early season big money.
The Money in the Mountains race will follow normal Big Diamond 358 Modified rules as set per the rulebook which you can access at our website.
The USS Achey Crate 602 Sportsman will also be racing for some extra cash this Friday with $1,500 going to the winner. Last week’s Crate Sportsman feature saw Logan Watt lead all 20 laps, but it was anything but easy as he had to hold off multiple challengers throughout the race to take the win.
Alex Schoffstall picked up where he left off in 2022 and dominated the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunner feature last Friday and will look to make it two in a row when the Roadrunners return this week to provide the fans with their brand of action-packed racing.
Rounding out the racing program will be the Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman running a 15-lap feature event.
The 4-Wide Salute Podcast, Dereka Mae Designs and Richard East will be putting up extra cash rewards for the racers during the night.
Friday’s night race will be a draw event for the Quandel Concrete Modifieds and the USS Achey Crate 602 Sportsman. Show-up points will be awarded in both divisions. The Red White and Blue Roadrunners will race a normal points race.
Pit gates will open at 5:00 PM with Grandstand gate opening at 5:30 PM
Pit passes are $35 for Big Diamond Speedway members. Non-member pit passes are $45
Warmups will get underway at 7:15 PM with racing starting at 7:45 PM
General admission is $30, Kids under 16 are free. Active military are admitted free with a valid ID.
If you cannot attend, Dirt Track Digest TV will have all the action live via Pay-Per-View.
