The mighty Wingless Sportsman return to Big Diamond Speedway on Friday, July 26th for the Fossil Fuel 35 paying $5,000 to the winner. This will be the second visit to coal country for the Wingless Sportsman in 2024. In their first visit, it was Trent Yoder holding off Curt Stroup for the win in an exciting battle. Look for the cars of Cliff Brian Jr, Bill Brian, Luke Lenker, Steve Wilbur and many others to be in the field looking to claim the $5K first place winner’s prize.
Friday night will be another night of great Uss Achey, Inc 602 Crate Sportsman racing as Jordan Henn continues to look like the favorite to repeat his championship from 2023. Henn has been on a roll as of late with two wins and two second place finishes in the last four races, putting himself in a good spot to win the title again. Henn has opened up a 185-point lead over Kevin Olenick with Jax Yohn, Colin Cox and Matt Martino completing the top five in the race for the Uss Achey, Inc 602 Crate Sportsman championship.
Alex Schoffstall returned to the victory lane last Friday night after a couple of down weeks in the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners to put himself back into the points race. Trailing Andrew Fayash III by only 106 points, Schoffstall is ready to pounce and ascend to the top of the standings. To do so, Schoffstall will have to contend with not only Fayash III but Chuck Fayash, Kris Ney, Jarod Bassininsky, Mike Reichert and a host of other Roadrunner drivers who give the fans some of the most exciting dirt track racing in the area.
Rounding out the racing card for Friday night will be the Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman along with the XCEL 600 Modifieds to complete a big night of dirt track action in Schuylkill County.
The Quandel Concrete Modifieds will have the week off and will return next Friday, August 2nd for the running of the annual Dave Kamp Memorial paying $4,000 to the winner.
Pit gates will open Friday night at 5:00 PM with the Grandstand gate opening at 5:30 PM
Hot laps are scheduled for 7:15PM with racing to follow.
Pit passes are $35 for Big Diamond Speedway members. Non-member pit passes are $45.
General admission is $20, Kids under 16 are free.
