USAC Eastern Storm heads to Big Diamond Speedway on Thursday, June 19. AMSOIL National Sprint Cars racing for $6000-to-win + 358 Modifieds in action

The United States Auto Club (USAC) AMSOIL National Sprint Cars has long had a great history here in eastern Pennsylvania, tracing its roots in the Keystone State back to 1956 when at the time they crowned an Eastern Champion, namely the legendary “Flying Farmer” Tommy Hinnershitz. AJ Foyt won the last USAC Eastern Sprint Car championship in 1960.

For many years the former Reading Fairgrounds played host to USAC Sprint Cars, having run 60 times at the famous ½-mile between 1956 and 1979.

Today USAC still has a strong presence in this region thanks largely to the Levan Machine & Truck Equipment Eastern Storm, a six-race series that will include a stop at Big Diamond Speedway on Thursday evening, June 19.

The six-race Eastern Storm will offer a $10,000 point fund courtesy of Levan Machine & Truck Equipment, of Berks County. Brian Levan, President and CEO of Levan Machine &Truck Equipment, is no stranger to the local racing scene.

Since 1936, Levan Machine and Truck Equipment has been your one-stop-shop for custom repair and production machining, and driveline services, and they are known throughout the East Coast for servicing commercial and fleet customers with custom work truck builds. They are also your go-to for all your CTech needs. Additionally, Levan Machine and Truck Equipment offers general truck repair and maintenance to help you keep your commercial fleet in top condition throughout your busy work schedule.

The race on Thursday at Big Diamond represents the third leg in the Eastern Storm series. The winner of the feature will claim a prize of $6000. The 2025 Eastern Storm champion will earn $5,000 of the total $10,000 Levan Machine and Truck Equipment sponsored point fund.

USAC National Sprint Cars have made eight appearances at the 3/8-mile dirt oval starting back in 2007 with Ricky Stenhouse Jr., picking up the victory. Cole Whitt scored back-to-back Big Diamond wins in 2008-09 and Chris Windom also was a two-time track winner occurring in 2010 and 2012. USAC did not return here until 2021 and notching the verdict was Tanner Thorson. The following year Emerson Axsom took top honors and last year Logan Seavey pulled into Victory Lane. Seavey would also go on to capture the 2024 National Championship.

Seavey is also the most recent winner with USAC, taking the $10,000-to-win victory on Friday at Red Hill Raceway in Illinois.

And not only will many of the top stars who travel on the USAC National Sprint Car trail be on hand but likewise a contingent of regulars with the Innovative Machine Technology USAC East Coast Sprints Cars.

Plus, there is an incentive to those drivers with the USAC East Coast Sprints with a $150 bonus to the highest finishing 360-powered USAC East Coast Sprint Car, $100 for second and $50 to third.

Sprint Cars won’t be the only headliner that night either. The Quandel Concrete 358 Modifieds will be in action, running a full set of heats and feature events. To date there have been four different winners in as many races with the Modifieds.

Between high-powered USAC National Sprint Cars and the thrilling 358 Modifieds, it makes Big Diamond Speedway the place to be on Thursday for what will no doubt be a superior program of dirt track racing.

Pit gates and grandstands open at 4:00 pm. Hot laps start at 6:45 pm followed by qualifying heats. Adult general admission is $35, and kids ages 6-11 are $10 and under 6 admitted free. Pits are $45.
