USAC East Coast Sprint Cars and East Coast Legend Series join the Friday night action with 358 Modifieds and Roadrunners at Big Diamond Speedway + Meet and greet with Dukes of Hazzard stars Tom Wopat (Luke Duke) and Jeff Altman (Hughie Hogg)

This coming Friday evening, August 8, fans of Big Diamond Speedway fans will be treated to four quality divisions as part of USS Achey Inc., Night at the 3/8-mile Schuylkill County dirt oval.

The Quandel Concrete 358 Modifieds and Red White and Blue Autos Inc., Roadrunners will be joined by a pair of touring classes as the USAC East Coast Sprints and East Coast Legends Series will take to the track.

For the USAC East Coast Sprint Cars – now in its eighth season – this will be their only 2025 appearance at Big Diamond Speedway, although several drivers did run here during the Levan Machine & Truck Equipment Eastern Storm Eastern Storm and the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Cars back on July 19.

In 19 previous races sanctioned by USAC here at Big Diamond Speedway, 10 have come under the East Coast Series banner. Four-time and defending champion Steve Drevicki of Reading leads the way with three wins and will be looking to get back Big Diamond’s Victory Lane for the first time since 2020. Alex Bright of Collegeville was the last winner here, which was in 2021.

The East Coast Legends Series are returning for a second time. On July 11 Tanner Jones was the star, holding off Logan Jones en route to claiming his third career Big Diamond victory. It’s a guarantee that whenever this division of scaled-down race cars comes to compete the match-ups always lends itself to close racing and Friday will be proof of that.

With only four regular season point races to go things are heating up in both the Modifieds and Roadrunners. Close, tight battles are waging among the top drivers in the standings in each of the respective classes, meaning the excitement that has been ongoing throughout the year will undoubtedly be at fever pitch during the upcoming weeks.

There’s an added bonus this Friday too with a pair of special guests joining in on the thrills. During the late 1970s and early 1980s one of the most top-viewed television series was The Dukes of Hazzard and coming out to meet fans will be Tom Wopat who played Luke Duke and Jeff Altman who starred as Hughie Hogg. Plus, another showstopper, the General Lee a 1969 Dodge Charger, will be on display. Wopat will also be singing the National Anthem.
