(Minersville, PA 11-3-26) Big Diamond Speedway is well-known for its great 358 Modified action presented weekly at the 3/8th mile dirt oval near Minersville along with some very supportive divisions that include the 602 Crate Sportsman Modifieds and Roadrunners.
Like other short tracks, Big Diamond also treats fans to visiting specialty divisions and track owners Jake and Jasmine Smulley have long taken pride in bringing in some of the best regional and national touring organizations.
And while the 2027 calendar of events is not quite ready to be released, the Smulley’s are excited to announce that one of the country’s top 410 Sprint Car groups will be making a stop at Big Diamond Speedway.
On Thursday evening, June 3, the All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCoC) will be competing and sponsored by K & L Utilities of Schuylkill County. The BQ Concrete 358 Modifieds will be part of the race card.
The ASCoC is one of the oldest and most respected traveling winged 410 Sprint Car racing series in America, founded in 1970 by Bud Miller. The series features some of the best Sprint Car drivers in the country and over the years has featured legendary drivers such as Bobby Allen, Jack Hewitt, Dale Blaney, and Chad Kemenah. After being owned by NASCAR champion Tony Stewart from 2015 to 2023, the series was acquired and now co‑owned by NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson and four‑time World of Outlaws Sprint Cars champion Brad Sweet.
“Anytime you can add a new event its always a plus and to do events out there in central Pennsylvania, I don’t think there’s a stronger fan base for Sprint Cars then what you find out there. I’m pretty hopeful it should be a great event,” said ASCoC promoter Rich Farmer.
“It’s been great working with Jake (Smulley). He’s been trying to get a date since we opened back with the All Stars a few years ago and central Pennsylvania has a lot of races and there’s only so many days in the calendar and you try to maximize where you can and do what you can do and that doesn’t always work,” he continued.
“This year we were able to get something together and make it work for him and we’re looking forward to it.”
The history books will show that winged 410 Sprint Cars have only competed at Big Diamond 13 times, the most recent was back in 2023 and won by Freddie Rahmer. The late Greg Hodnett is a five time winner at the track while single event victories have gone to Fred Rahmer, Keith Kauffman, Lucas Wolfe, Brian Montieth, Sam Hafertepe, Cort Haas and Mark Smith.
The Big Diamond stop will coincide with the ASCoC running a three race-swing through this region of the state.
“We always try to maximize the weekends and traditionally we do just mostly Friday/Saturday, but we tend to be making just one trip to central Pennsylvania, so this has given us an opportunity to add a date,” said Farmer.
Farmer is confident they will draw a strong car count, including both from his drivers and members of the Pennsylvania Posse.
“In the last two years we’ve had the highest average car count of any regional series in the United States, we’ve had the most teams that compete at every one of our events, and we’ve had the highest car counts of those in the country so I feel confident we should be good,” he explained.
“When we’ve been out to Pennsylvania the car counts have been in the 40s almost every night so we should be in good shape. Our guys know it’s a hell of a challenge to go out there and the Posse are some of the best competition in the country.”

“My two boys, Kevin Jr., and Kyle, race Jr. Sprints and I had built them a track here at our farm and I called Jake back in the summer about where to get the clay from and then I told him if you get 410s back I’ll help you out, my boys they like the 410s.”
Big Diamond Speedway kicks off the 2027 season on Friday, April 9 with the “Thaw Brawl.” The BQ Concrete 358 Modifieds will be racing for $5055-to-win, USS Achey Inc. 602 Crate Sportsman battling for $1055-to-win, the Infinite Solutions Keystone Sport Compact Series racing for $555-to-win plus the Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman are part of the action.
