With a very successful May Month of Money behind us for the Quandel Concrete Modifieds, it’s time to give the other weekly divisions some time in the spotlight. This Friday night, June 7th the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners will race in the crowd favorite – Crazy 8’s while the USS Achey, Inc. 602 Crate Sportsman will race for a winner’s share of $1,045 as part of the Fayash Memorial.
The Crazy 8 races for the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners have proved to be very successful and pleasing to the fans. The Roadrunners will race in four eight lap feature races with each race earning a full set of points toward the championship. The Roadrunners have put some of the best side by side racing on every Friday night and with only eight lap feature events, you can bet the drivers will be anxious to get to the front quickly and garner a win. Andrew Fayash III currently leads the points chase but still hasn’t reached victory lane in 2024 and will be looking to do just that on Friday night.
With $1,045 going to the winner of the USS Achey, Inc 602 Crate Sportsman race on Friday, you can bet the drivers will be on the gas to win the extra cash. Last week saw teenager Colin Cox race to the win in the Thaw Brawl makeup feature with Matt Martino taking the checkers in the regularly scheduled feature. For both drivers, it was their first ever win in a stock car. Kevin Olenick has taken over the points lead from Jax Yohn with his consistency and would like nothing better than to get his first win of the season with the big bucks on the line.
Not to be forgotten, the track’s headline division is the Quandel Concrete Modifieds. Last week saw defending Big Diamond track champion Brett Kressley win his first of the season and in doing so jumped up to third place in the points standings trailing leader Mike Gular by 51 points. Eddie Strada is second with Louden Reimert and teenager Logan Watt in fourth and fifth. Jeff Strunk is the only driver in the modified division with two wins and will be looking to win number three in the Rochinski Enterprises No. 20R. So far in 2024, modified wins have gone to Anthony Perrego, Ryan Watt, Jeff Strunk (2), Eddie Strada and Brett Kressley, leaving some big names out there still looking to visit victory lane for the first time in 2024.
Rounding out the racing card for Friday night will be the Big Creek Concrete 602 Crate Sportsman Rookie division. Last Friday, saw Christopher Buffalino win his first ever rookie feature. This year’s class of rookies has looked solid, and the future is bright at Big Diamond Speedway.
