An all-day soaking put a damper on any possibility of Friday evening races taking place at Big Diamond Speedway, which was to be highlighted by the 602 Crate Classic for the USS Achey Inc., 602 Crate Sportsman along with the Quandel Concrete 358 Modifieds, Red White and Blue Autos Inc., Roadrunners and Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman.
The cancellation now moves the same program to Friday, May 16 for Tony’s Meat Market Night.
And it will be the same lucrative night of racing too for the 602 Crate Sportsman and 358 Modifieds as they will be battling for a top reward of $3000 and $6000 respectively.
For the 602 Crate Sportsman, heat race starting spots will be set by random draw and for the feature the top qualifiers will take part in a ‘Revenge Draw.’ Also, if 38 or more cars sign in and make an attempt to qualify then spots 1 through 24 in the feature will all receive an additional $120. Show-up points will be awarded as well to each driver. The feature distance is 30-laps.
The 358 Modifieds will compete for a significant prize as well, with $6,000 awarded to the first-place finisher upon completion of the 25-lap main event.
The Red White and Blue Autos Inc., Roadrunners and the Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman will round out the evening of racing.

In the event of inclement weather and next Friday would rain out, the speedway has added on Sunday, May 18, as the make-up date. If needed, Sunday times will be 3:00 pm for hot laps and racing is set to begin at 5:00 pm.
Coming up in two weeks, on Friday, May 23, it will be Quandel Concrete Night with the headline class 358 Modifieds once again contesting for a $6000 winner’s share. Plus, there will be double the action for the 602 Crate Sportsman as not only will they be competing in their regularly scheduled race but also on tap will be the Opening Night Thaw Brawl make-up feature from April 4. Roadrunners and Rookies are also on the slate.
