Quandel Concrete Night this Friday at Big Diamond Speedway. Special raffle baskets to benefit area animal shelters

There’s another exciting night of dirt track all racing set for this Friday evening, May 23, at Big Diamond Speedway which is Quandel Concrete Night.

Quandel Concrete is the presenting sponsoring of the 358 Modified division at Big Diamond Speedway. For the evening events, they have organized a basket raffle as part of their initiative, Quandel Concrete Gives Back, which will support local animal shelters.

Fans can receive a free raffle ticket by simply bringing a donation to the track that can be beneficial to one of the area shelters. Contribution items can be made in the form of cleaning supplies, food, kitty litter, toys, blankets and such.

There will be tickets available for purchase at the track and if any businesses would like to help make this fundraiser even better details can be found on their Facebook page by clicking here: Quandel Concrete

Quandel Concrete traces its roots back to 1882 and Johann Heinrich Quandel, who started a home building business in Minersville. Now, four generations later, and situated at the site of the original lime kilns, Quandel Concrete continues in the traditions and ethics set down by J.H. Quandel over 100 years ago. They are located at N 5th St & Schaeffer’s Hill Road Minersville.

Racing action will consist of all regular track classes. The 358 Modifieds are going at it for another $6000-to-win 25-lap feature.

The USS Achey Inc., 602 Crate Sportsman will be doing double duty, starting off with the postponed April 4 Opening Night Thaw Brawl and awards $1053-to-win. That will be followed up with the regular scheduled feature for that night.

The Red White and Blue Roadrunners and Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman are also running.

Friday’s pit gates open at 5:00 pm and grandstands at 5:30. Hot laps start at 7:15 followed by qualifying heats. Adult general admission is $20, and kids 16 and under are free. Pits are $35 for members and $45 for non-members.

The month of May will close out on May 30 with yet another $6000-to-win main for the 358 Modifieds along with all regular track classes.
