Georgie Stevenson Memorial this Friday at Big Diamond Speedway. 358 Modifieds running twin-20s. Full Fender Frenzy $1000-to-win for Roadrunners + Fireworks

This coming Friday, July 4, as our great Nation celebrates it birth, Big Diamond Speedway will be celebrating a special day as well with the annual Georgie Stevenson Memorial as part of B & H Landscaping Night.

The annual Georgie Stevenson Memorial has been a staple run over years and during that span the race has become a true summer classic.

A little history is in order to better understand what a young boy’s love of racing at Big Diamond Speedway, and much more, was all about.

In his short lifetime Georgie did so much for so many. He passed away in 1979 at age 12 from cancer and his wish to his family was to continue to help those afflicted by the disease. Until his passing he worked on behalf of those in need and he did not let his ill health hold him back and right up to the end he carried on with his charitable efforts.

Georgie started raising money for MS and MD in 1975. At age 12 he was named “Man of the Year.” He also received a Citizens Award and received a Citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Since his passing, Big Diamond Raceway has been holding a memorial race in his honor as he and his family were big fans of the track.

Friday’s race card will see the Quandel Concrete 358 Modifieds running twin-20 lap features paying $2000 to win each. For the Modifieds it is also the second leg of the Bill Brown & Company $250 Bonus Award. Ken Bruce of Bill Brown and Company of Hamilton, NJ, is awarding $250 to the Big Diamond Speedway Modified driver who has the highest average finish amongst six select 2025 races.

The USS Achey Inc., 602 Crate Sportsman will be competing in a regular 20 lap feature while the Red White and Blue Autos Inc., Roadrunners will be facing off in another Full Fender Frenzy event paying $1000-to-win. This race has rules that conform to Big Diamond Speedway and BAPS Motor Speedway.

The Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman have the night off.

All four features will have bonus awards courtesy of the Dog Pound. In honor of the first 4th of July in 1777, the 7th placed finisher of each feature will pick up and an additional $177. The Dog Pound is a committed group of Big Diamond Speedway fanatics and supporters who organize various fundraising events throughout the year to increase driver payouts.

All attendees will be treated to a spectacular fireworks display in celebration of the July 4 holiday.

The night of racing is being presented by B & H Landscaping. Established in 2008, they specialize in all types of lawn and garden care. B & H Landscaping is located at 728 Forrest Lane, Pottsville. They can be reached at 570-527-8953.
