(2-5-26) Big shows offering big money always seem to draw extra focus and attention at Big Diamond Speedway. And not to take away from the regular Friday night races, which are clearly thrilling, yet given the added incentives on those select nights it makes attending a bit more captivating when it comes to the high-stakes events.
Two such races on the calendar, April 10 and August 21, certainly stand out. Both are $10,000-to-win features for the Quandel Concrete 358 Modifieds and both are proudly sponsored by returning track backer DBR Industrial Services LLC of Pottsville.
DBR Industrial Services LLC is not only a big part of the family of track marketing partners, but this year they are stepping up to sponsor both of these race nights as well.
“We hadn’t been to the races there in quite a few years and last year we had a sponsored night and we enjoyed it, our grand kids enjoyed it so this year we’re getting more involved,” said DBR owner Bill Robinson.
“We had even gotten a job from that night, we did the Fitzpatrick race shop, and it turned out great. Jake (Smulley, track owner) approached us about doing a billboard which is great and we decided to do it. We love motorsports, no matter what it is and we’re hoping to open the doors in those areas.”
DBR Services LLC is a family-owned business. Along with Bill is his wife Tara and two sons Derrec and Brody along with two very dedicated employees Chris and Fran. They specialize in top-tier epoxy flooring and overlays and are committed to elevating floors and surfaces with premium epoxy coatings and visually striking overlays, delivering exceptional results tailored to each client’s needs. They also provide professional blasting and painting services to meet specific requirements.
This year they will be extending their services to include asphalt maintenance.
On April 10, the annual Fritz Roehrig Memorial/Money in the Mountains is the headliner for the night. The race will be run over a 50-lap distance and just like last year if 45 or more cars are signed and attempt to qualify, the winner’s share will double to $20,000.
Last year the car counts hit that magical number, and Louden Reimert collected a track record payout and biggest payday of his young career. The USS Achey Inc., 602 Crate Modified winner will also see an increase as the main will award $1000 for their victory.
Later in the year it will be another $10,000-to-win/50-lap feature for the Modifieds in what has become one of the staple events on the yearly calendar, the Prelude to the Coalcracker.
Last year Craig Von Dohren raced to his unprecedented 106th career Big Diamond Speedway triumph, holding off perennial track kingpins Duane Howard and Jeff Strunk in the process.
Big Diamond Speedway is thrilled to have Bill Robinson and DBR Industrial Services LLC back with them and be part of two very special race nights.
“I think two nights will be great for us and we’re looking forward to it. With our busy schedule there’s not always time to get together with the whole family and enjoy a night at the races,” said Robinson.
The 54th Season Opener “Thaw Brawl” kicks off the 2026 season on Friday evening, April 3. On tap will be the Quandel Concrete 358 Modifieds, USS Achey Inc., 602 Crate Sportsman, the Red White and Blue Autos Inc., Roadrunners plus the Big Creek Concrete Rooke 602 Crate Sportsman.
The Modifieds, Sportsman and Roadrunners will be racing for $4054, $1054 and $454 to win respectively.
There will be a practice session the Sunday prior, on March 29, which is open to all divisions.
