(2-23-26) The 358 Modified division at Big Diamond Speedway has a slightly fresh look for the 2026 season.
For years the headline class at the 3/8-mile dirt oval near Minersville had backing from Quandel Concrete. However, after a recent merger with Boger Concrete, the two facilities have combined forces and changed their name to BQ Concrete. With that starting this year the division will be known as the BQ Concrete 358 Modifieds.
“There’s was never any question after we merged, it was basically let’s keep doing this,” said Chris Rowlands, Operations Manager for BQ Concrete and a long-time fan of the speedway.
“It’s all about giving back to the community and the racers. They bring in all those fans to Big Diamond every Friday night and we’re just happy to be a great part of all that.”
While under the Quandel Concrete banner, Rowlands related to the fact that the partnership between the company and race track proved to be a good association and how important it is to continue that solid relationship as BQ Concrete.
“There’s such a vast array of people who are there each week and some may not know who we are and some of course do. We’ve been able to make connections outside of the county and what it basically does is give us the opportunity to get our name out there and get our name heard all over,” stated Rowlands.
Friday, May 29, is BQ Concrete Night with BQ 358 Modifieds, USS Achey Inc. 602 Sportsman, Red White and Blue Autos Inc. Roadrunners, and the Keystone Sport Compact Series making up the evening’s action-filled slate.
BQ Concrete not only sponsors the 358 Modifieds but will also feature its branding on the Modified cars of Kevin Beach Jr. and Brennan Chapman, both of whom do a first-rate job of representing the company through racing, plus they are also faithful employees.
“Kevin and Brennan are two of the hardest workers and loyal workers that have worked for our family’s company and whatever we can do to give back to them is a great honor for us,” said Rowlands.
Located in Lebanon, BQ Concrete is a family-owned ready-mix concrete company formed from the merger of Boger Concrete and Quandel Concrete, two trusted names with deep roots in Central Pennsylvania’s construction industry. Boger Concrete served the region for decades with a strong commitment to customer service, reliability, and doing the small things right, while Quandel Concrete traces history back to 1882, carrying forward four generations of craftmanship, integrity, and community responsibility.
What began as a joint venture in 2019 became a unified company in 2026, bringing together shared values, experienced teams, and expanded operational strength. BQ Concrete delivers high-quality concrete solutions through five modern facilities, portable plants, and skilled crews, while maintaining the personal service, accountability, and local pride that have defined both companies for generations.
With the merger BQ Concrete now extends its footprint from as far north as Hazleton and down to the Maryland state line.
