602 SPORTSMAN CRATE CLASSIC TAKES MAIN SPOTLIGHT THIS FRIDAY AT BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY…$2000-TO-WIN AND $225 TO START: 358 MODIFIEDS AND ROADRUNNERS ALSO IN ACTION

(5-11-26) Big Diamond Speedway will be looking to make it six straight starts to get the season rolling this coming Friday evening, May 15, for Red White and Blue Autos Inc., Night.

In action will be the BQ Concrete 358 Modifieds, the USS Achey Inc. 602 Crate Sportsman and the Red White and Blue Autos Inc. Roadrunners.

This week’s action will be highlighted with the 602 Crate Sportsman running in the Crate Classic. It will be a 30-lap feature paying $2000-to-win and $225 to start.

This year marks the third running of the Crate Classic, an event that consistently attracts strong fields for good reason. As they do throughout the season, track owners Jake and Jasmine Smulley have posted an impressive purse for the show.

The Crate Classic was first held in 2024 with Xavier Sprague garnering the victory while last year saw Adrianna Deliponti collect the big win.

This season thus far has seen four different winners in as many races with Colin Cox, Zach Steffey, Nate Brinker and Kevin Smith picking up wins with the 602 Crate Sportsman.

There will be a draw for heat starting spots, and a revenge redraw held in Victory Lane for the feature. Show-up points will be awarded provided drivers make a valid qualifying attempt.

Over the past few weeks, the 358 Modifieds have had some very close racing which has also led to a tight point battle as well. Coming off his fourth straight top five Tim Buckwalter has taken the point lead ahead of Mike Lisowski.

There has also been four different winners in the first five races including this past Friday when Duane Howard picked up his 94th career Big Diamond Speedway victory. Lisowski and Alex Yankowski each have notched wins while Rick Laubach scored back-to-back verdicts.

The Roadrunners will round out the thrilling program. It seems more and more that the features for this exciting full-fender class just keeps ramping up better each week. This division does not disappoint.

The evening sponsor, Red White and Blue Autos Inc., is located at 500 S. Hoffman Boulevard, Ashland. Many of their clients take advantage of online shopping to find a quality, used car, truck or SUV.

Pit gates will open on Friday at 5:00 pm with grandstands at 5:30 pm. Hot laps get underway beginning at 7:00 pm followed by racing. Pit admission is $35 for Big Diamond Speedway members and $45 for non-members. Adult general admission is $25, students 10-15 are $10 and kids 9 and under are free.
