(7-6-26) Big Diamond Speedway has not missed a beat through the first half of the 2026 season, completing every scheduled event to date — 13 straight shows without a cancellation.
Now, the popular 3/8-mile dirt oval near Minersville turns its attention to this Friday, July 10, when it will look to make history with a record 14 consecutive completed events to open the season as part of Lasting Legends Night/Shop 61 Night.
In a short period of time the Lasting Legends Night has become a fan favorite affair as the Speedway invites several past driving standouts for a Meet and Greet Autograph Session prior to the start of the races.
This year’s line-up will include 1993/94 Street Stock champion Bruce Williams. Dick Maberry, who was quite the popular star Modified racer during the latter half of the 1970s will be there. Terry Peters was among the track’s early days Sportsman Modified talents and will be in attendance. Davey Wenger, who raced in the headline Modifieds during the 1980s and early 1990s is confirmed. A repeated winner in Street Stocks and Modifieds, Keith Trumbo will be joining the distinguished list and Frankie Burke too, who not only raced at the track but worked as the announcer.
Fans will be able to meet up with these driving greats where they will be stationed underneath the pavilion adjacent to the concession stand.
All four regular track classes will be in action on Friday which include the marquee BQ Concrete 358 Modifieds, USS Achey Inc. 602 Crate Sportsman, Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman and Red White and Blue Autos Inc. Roadrunners.
It is also Shop 61 Night. Shop 61 is a couple’s boutique located at 1426 Route 61 South in Pottsville. They carry a fine array of items that are designed for romantic interludes. You can find something for every male, female and couple. A very courteous staff is ready to serve you with any questions and concerns.
