(8-25-26) This coming Friday, August 28, on USS Achey Inc. Night at Big Diamond Speedway, things are about to get a little crazy as the wildly popular “Crazy 8s” for the Red White and Blue Autos Inc., Roadrunners takes place.
A longtime fan favorite, this event will feature the track’s full-fender division competing in four eight-lap races, creating fast-paced action as drivers have little time to plan their moves and must charge to the front as quickly as possible.
Each of the four features awards full points and with only one regular season race remaining for the class it could pose a shake-up for sure. Point leader Alex Schofftsall heads into the night with a respectable margin over Joey Brennan and Jim Kost but with four races to run in one night the tides could easily turn.
The night of racing will be spotlighted around the Fayash Memorial, paying honor to the late Andrew Fayash Jr., who is a past Slide Stock champion. Andrew had an untimely passing in 2013 due to an accident at his shop while working on his race car. He sustained fatal injuries when the car fell off the jackstands and crushed him.
His memory though has lived on as his son, 3-time Roadrunner champion Andrew Fayash III and his brother, 2023 class champion Chuck Fayash, continue to race with much success and in doing so have kept the Fayash name synonymous with the popular 3/8th mile dirt oval. Chuck is coming off his third win in last week’s action.
The BQ Concrete 358 Modifieds, USS Achey Inc., 602 Crate Sportsman and Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Cate Sportsman will also be in action.
For the Modifieds and Sportsman this is the next to last regular season point races left to run and for the Rookie Sportsman it will be their final race of the season.
Friday’s races are being presented by USS Achey Inc. Iron and Metal Processors who has long been a dedicated supporter of Big Diamond Speedway as a marketing partner as well as a sponsor for several teams.

Pits open at 5:00 pm and grandstands at 5:30 pm. Pits are $35 for members and $45 non-members. Hot laps will begin at 6:45 pm with racing to follow. Adult general admission is $20, kids aged 10-15 $10 and under 9 are free.
