BY KEN BRUCE – The common statement that you hear from teams the most is that “We need better purses”. Big Diamond promoters Jake and Jasmine Smulley have heard their call and stepped up their game in a big way.
The Smulley’s and Big Diamond Speedway have declared May of 2024 “The Modified Month of Money”! Every Modified feature in the month of May will pay an unprecedented $5,000 to the winner. Yes, you heard that right, $5,000 to the winner of a regular 25-lap feature event. That has never been offered before for a regular-season racing feature.
The Modified “Month of Money” will get underway on Friday, May 3rd , and conclude on Friday, May 31st. This will be four nights of our Quandel Concrete 358 Modifieds racing for some big bucks. Note: The modifieds are off on Friday, May 10th. See below for the May schedule.

The 2024 season at Big Diamond will get underway on Friday, April 12th with the annual “Thaw Brawl” paying $4,052 to the Quandel Concrete Modifieds winner, $1,052 to the USS Achey 602 Crate Sportsman winner and $452 to Red White and Blue Roadrunners winner. Completing the opening night program will be the Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate class.
